Locate a file in Windows 95
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Find' and select 'Files or Folders...'. (The 'Find: All Files' dialog box appears.)
3) In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the drive to search.
4) Select the 'Include subfolders' check box to search all of the folders on the drive.
5) Do one of the following:
a) If you know the filename, type the filename in the 'Named' box.
b) If you know the date or date range in which the file was created:
1] Click the 'Date Modified' tab.
2] Select the 'Find all files created or modified' radio button.
3] Do one of the following:
a] Select the 'between' radio button, and type the beginning and ending date in the boxes.
b] Select the 'during the previous' radio button for either 'months' or 'days', and type the number of months or days in the corresponding box.
c) If you know text contained in the file:
1] Click the 'Advanced' tab.
2] Select the type of file from the 'Of type' drop-down list.
3] Type the text string or word in the 'Containing text' box.
d) To search by the file size:
1] Click the 'Advanced' tab.
2] In the 'Size is' drop-down list, do one of the following:
a] Select 'At least'.
b] Select 'At most'
3] Type the desired file size in the 'KB' box.
6) Click 'Find Now'. (The 'Find: All Files' dialog box expands to include the search results.)
7) To close the 'Find: All Files' dialog box, select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
